Merilyn Solem Muesing, a registered nurse, is the daughter of Dr. Harold and Nellie Solem, the primary characters in Doctor on Trial. Merilyn received her RN from the Evanston (IL) Hospital School of Nursing. Following graduation, she launched her practice as a health educator, presenting wellness seminars to corporate clients, universities, women’s groups and the physician/nursing staff of American International Hospital, the founding hospital of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

She served as coordinator of the Task Force on Health and Nutrition, writing two workbooks designed to equip trainers to teach the principles of health in the inner city of Chicago. This project was funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Merilyn has been interviewed on radio and seven times on local Chicago, national and international television including The 700 Club, broadcast to 160 cities in the U.S., Canada and Monte Carlo with an estimated audience of 62 million.

By returning to the principles of health her parents taught her as a child, she experienced a total recovery from medically diagnosed “no cure” rheumatoid arthritis without medications. Formerly, Merilyn performed as a corps de ballet dancer with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo.
